Engine change/installation recommendation

Post by stu60 »

Hi, i have managed to source a decent rebuilt Rover 4.0 for my Hawk (to be fitted to my LT77 g/box). does anyone have any recommendations for someone to:-
- remove old engine
- fit my edelbrock inlet manifold and holley carb to my new engine
- install SD1 front cover on new engine
- install my existing electronic distributor
- install and re-commission new engine

i am based in Gloucestershire but don't mind travelling a reasonable distance
thanks Stuart

Hi Stuart,

I'm not sure how far they are from you, but I would recommend Thunder Road Cars. http://www.thunderroadcars.com/
Cheers, Clive.

My BRA was built with a reconditioned old 3.5 engine. About 14 years ago I had a new engine built with the latest stiffened, cross bolted block and it fitted straight in. If by a 4 litre you are referring to the older 3.9 then that would fit straight in too

thanks, its just the stiffened block so essentially the same engine, not expecting any traumas.

any more local/midlands recommendations gratefully received.
thx stuart
