For Pirellis P4000s I had 24 psi front and 26 psi rear. Ideal for normal road use. (Ford 302 and Jag diff)
Cheers, Clive.

Clive, it’s Interesting that you have the rear slightly harder. Do you know the weight bias ?
Appreciate that the driver will add weight to the rear.

Hi Peter,

The weight with driver Front is 470 Kg and the Rear is 560 Kg. Without driver it is 440 Kg Front and 515 Kg Rear. It was suggested by Gerry to use the standard MG pressures and having tried them slightly higher and lower over 40,000 miles it seemed fine by me and the tyre wear has been even throughout.
Having now fitted Blockleys to the rear of the car, I have increased the rear pressure to 28 psi as the sidewalls seem slightly softer and 26 seemed a bit skittish.
Cheers, Clive.

Interesting subject.
When I had the Avon’s fitted at the factory they suggested 30 psi and were amazed that I had been running my Pirelli’s at only 23 front and 20 rear but agreed that tyre wear was equal. The lower rear was due to them being larger ( FIA) and looking stiff whereas the fronts were bulging.
I now run 25 all round.
Ref the weight bias I wonder where all my extra weight is hiding. I have roughly the same 46/54% but with a Rover engine which is meant to be some 80 kgs lighter. No it’s not the driver as I am less than 70kgs.
