Hawk filler hose

Post by simonjrwinter »

I’ve got the cert for the braided hoses, the hose from the filter to the carb has “fuel hose” printed on it but the filler hose is just plain hose.
I thought I’d replace all 2-3 inches of it with something that has a certificate or legend on it.
Is 51mm the standard size from the standard hawk tank?
Thanks
Simon

Does the filler hose need to comply as it does not hold fuel? If it does then does the fuel breather hose need to comply too?
Cheers, Clive.

Had exactly this problem at Gillingham - had to replace the two elbows in the filler section.
Then found that the fuel designation was hidden from view, one under the jubilee clip, the other facing the body, so had to spend ages getting a decent pic (attached).

Remember the fuel cap will also need to be earthed. I ran a wire, zip tied to the fuel filler hose, down to the earth for the rear lights, which was deemed acceptable.
