Quick question.
I’m just rebuilding my front hubs and wondered what people’s thoughts are on the dust shields.
I’ve often thought the offside front disk scraped on occasion against the cover when turning right but can’t imagine why this would be the case. Contemplating leaving them off.
Cheers
Dave.

Hi Dave,
Do you mean the metal disc that some cars have fitted between the brake disc and the upright on the inside of the hub? I have Princess 4 pot calipers on my 289 and have never seen the need.

Hi Dave,
Having fitted larger discs ( 298 mm ) and four pot callipers I assumed that the standard MGB dust shield wouldn’t have fitted. So I have never bothered to investigate and look upon it as allowing the disc to get more air for cooling.
