Tacho conversion

Post by simonjrwinter »

Does anybody have experience of someone who could do some work on an electronic tacho?
I had the mechanical tacho in my TR6 converted to electronic but there’s a problem with it and the company that converted it won’t sort it.
Thanks
Simon

I've found Speedycables less than speedy.... I had a very good experience with Speedograph Richfield http://www.speedograph-richfield.com

One I've not tried is Flannery, but maybe they're only mechanical: http://www.magnetic-speedometer-repair.com

I’m not too impressed with Speedy Cables either. Sent two gauges in to them in early March and was given a quote and a 4-6 week lead time. After six weeks I called several times and finally got a reply that they would be ready in 2 weeks. Another six weeks have passed and after another four phone calls I was told they would be ready in two weeks. I’ve asked that they return them ASAP so I can send them elsewhere.

Yes - I asked for information from them so I knew what to order, but the person I needed to speak to wasn't there and I never got a call back. Tried a few times.

Whereas Speedograph promised 2 weeks to calibrate my speedo, and it was back within a week. They also made the cable up and had it delivered within two or three days.
