It doesn't sound like a vapour lock to me, it sounds more like fuel starvation. Is your tank vented? What is your float level like? What is your fuel pressure to the carb?
Cheers, Clive.

Hi Clive,
Well, no fun at all today!
Nightmare journey to Carfest. Engine stopped 8 times in total. 10 mins with the bonnet up cooled things sufficiently to get it going again. Yes, tank is vented, fuel pressure and float level...don’t know. I have a filter king filter/ pressure regulator but don’t have the gauge to check.

Have ordered a fuel gauge for the filter king. What pressure should I expect? It’s a 335 bhp motor.

That’s interesting, found a pressure gauge and checked it...exactly 3psi!
Have adjusted it to 6psi now. Will see how that works.....

There are plenty videos on You Tube showing how to set up Hollys.

Thanks Clive, I ran the car up to temp (in a hot garage, bonnet closed) and it ran superbly without even a stumble. Now it may be not quite a hot as a queue of cars on the M25, but it was pretty damn hot under there. Hopefully, that has helped with the problem. Thanks for the advice all. Will report back once I’ve driven/queued in the car.
