Had a run out today.
Rover, LT77, 3.08 rear gears, 205/70/15 24psi 70mph 5th gear =
@ 2300rpm
Car will pull from sub 1000rpm in 5th
Engine is high comp 3.9 with porting and Typhoon cam circa 240 bhp.

With more time I just worked that back to 30.43 mph / 1000 rpm in 5th. Perfect cruising rpm, and car takes off like a scalded cat.
