Rear brake line

For some reason, the PO of my car didn’t fit the brake line from the rear axle bracket to the front of the car (master cylinder) before fitting the body or engine. This is going to make a fiddly job even more difficult, if not impossible to do in one length of pipe. Would it acceptable (and safe) to have a joint (say) half way down the pipe?
Any advice on fitting this particular run greatly appreciated.
I’ve not been able to do any work on the car for several months now, but have been thinking about it a lot and this is really bugging me!

I don’t see why that should be a problem as long as the correct brake pipe unions are used and the pipe is supported at the correct spacing. My old BMW had corroded rear brake pipes under the fuel tank which was originally one piece from front to back. I cut out the corroded part and replaced it with a union half way down which was acceptable for MOT.

I’ll try to look under the car tomorrow to check where I had a join.
I fitted everything with the body on as I did not have the space to store it remotely.
So yes it’s possible to fit the brake lines with the body on.
I used Gerry’s kit which came from BGC.

Just checked my brake line to the rear axle. It looks like I a have a coupler just to rear of where the MGB leaf spring would attach. This is just before the brake line goes up to feed the rear axle.
I say it looks like that’s the case but my brake line is insulated at that point and so I can only report that there is a bulge located at that point.
It makes sense to be able to feed the brake line in through the outrigger holes leaving off the bendy bit up to the axle. (In my case Jag.)
I suggest you contact BGC Motorsport for a coupler.
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get into their web site today.

Thanks Peter, appreciate that. I’m pretty sure I have a box full of unused brake line fittings in the garage. Hopefully I’ll have all the parts I need……
