Clutch line/pipe size

Post by simonjrwinter »

Is the connection between the master cylinder and slave best run in 1/4-5/16-8mm ?
Checked the braided hose the PO supplied but it’s not the correct length or size.

I can’t advise the bore as it all connected.
O/D of braid is 8mm and length including end connections is 710.
For reference/comparison it appears my brake line flexibles are 7mm O/D

I got a custom line made up by HEL Performance (they're only a few miles away and are always very helpful when I pop in with a random question unannounced). They have the various dimensions at the bottom of the ordering page: https://auto.helperformance.com/custom- ... rake-lines.

For the route I chose, I went for a 42 cm line with a 90 degree swivel at each end: 3/8" x 24 UNF and M12 x 1.

Just to clarify my clutch & brake lines etc all came from BGC who supplied them as part of Gerry’s standard package.

Thanks Peter,
I’ve just sent an email to Brian to see if he can send me one.

I have continued to deal with Brian for any replacements/ extras over the last 20 years as he is such a straight forward guy to deal with. I expect I could get things cheaper elsewhere but I want the confidence it’s going to be correct.

Do BGC have a website? I can't seem to find one.
Cheers

Normally yes but they are having web problems at present. I tried to contact them just before Christmas and they advised they had issues.
You would find them under BGC Motorsport.
