Took my car to a carb "Guru" in Dundee this morning as I have always felt the engine has been a wee bit thirsty (15 mpg from a Ford 302 at 70 mph @ 2,000 rpm) The guy spent about an hour adjusting the Holly Street Avenger and it now sounds sweet. Couldn't manage to get the CO below 4.3 on either bank but the engine now is easier to start and more responsive. I haven't checked the mileage yet as it has been too showery today but as I'm driving down to Silverstone and back any increase in mpg will be appreciated.
When he had finished I asked how much I was due him for his time. "Nothing," he replied, "It was just a pleasure to work on an lovely engine!" (Never had the same when I take my BMW to the local agent!)
Rich Mixture.
Rich Mixture.
Cheers, Clive.

Went from Perth to Bruar Falls and back today to see if there had been any improvement in my fuel consumption. 100 miles of A and B roads later I am now returning an average of 20 mpg!
