Post by Migge »

Here is a solution if you want to use the rectangular rear lights and electric, relais etc. is not your hobby but still want to use them for light, stop light and signal

This is the normal Lucas 542 rear light with one lamp.

You don't want to bend the little clamps from the chrom frame to fix the new brackets together with it because if you do so two of the four will brake off! use a dremel and cut a square piece of the middle out, very carefully to avoid deep cuttings into the lense

You can bolt on the outer piece (lense, chrome frame and rubber) with the two nuts and on the boot inside you just add the new bracket, Voila!

Very impressive - possibly not much help for SVA though, as I believe the issue with the old lights is also about them not being visible from the side, like the round ones are.
