Build Manuals

Post by jamesmacv8 »

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to this forum and I am doing a considerable amount of research into a potential 289 FIA build as my next project.

I'd like to get hold of a Hawk 289 FIA build manual - does anyone have one for sale, or available in electronic format they can send by email?

Many thanks in advance - the 289 Register is already providing me with a wealth of information!

Regards
James,
Edinburgh

Hi James and welcome to the forum. Whereabouts are you in Edinburgh? I am just outside Perth so if you want to pop up sometime You are more than welcome to cast your eyes over my car, albeit a slabside. I built it in 2006 so a wee while ago but I still have loads of info and details.
If you join the club you can access the member's area of the website where there are lots of build information you can access. The Scottish scene is fairly active with one FIA currently under construction and nearly complete, a further four 289s and several 427s plus three very rare originals.
Cheers, Clive.

Hi Clive,

Many thanks - I have sent you a PM - which is still sitting in the outbox for some reason!

I'll join the club as you suggest.

James

Hi there -
I've got a build manual, but it's paper-based.
I would recommend talking to Gerry about this to see if you can buy one off him. I imagine he doesn't send out electronic versions since he wants you to buy his kit which comes with the manual.

Here's a link to the application form and welcome to the forum!

There's a lot of info on wiki.the289register.com but only if you're a paid-up member unfortunately. There are also links to some blogs under 'building and servicing your 289' on the home page of www.the289register.com

Hope that helps...
