MGB single line v dual line brake hydraulics

Hi all.

My donor car (1966) has the original single line braking system. I want to take advantage of anything I can do to improve safety/reliability when I build my Hawk so I was investigating the dual line system. I’ve read that it actually uses a single reservoir so loss of pressure in one line leads to loss of pressure in both, ie somewhat limited improvement. Also the upgrade requires a larger pedal box and possibly a different brake pedal on top of the obvious master cylinder and lines. Can anyone shed any more light on this? Share any experiences? I’m reticent to try anything too complicated/expensive especially if it doesn’t actually achieve much.

Hawks use a bespoke pedal box with dual circuit, twin master cylinders, dual reservoir and a brake bias bar. Not sure where you read that about a single reservoir. I can only think someone has improvised somewhat.
