I’m trying to work out how my throttle linkage is going to work. I have a length of 10mm ss rod I will use for fitting an actuator arm to, but rather than fit it to the foot box one end, then the engine the other, has anybody fitted both ends to each foot box ? (Pics would help I’m sure but I hope you get the idea)

Re: With regard to throttle linkage
What advantage do you think you gain by having both ends on the footwells. Any engine movement would then have an affect on the throttle. Surely the reason the carb end is usually mounted on the engine is to minimise any error due to engine movement. You could go for your idea
but then convert to cable between the linkage and carb.

Yes Peter, good point. Just trying to work through all the options in my head before I commit. My intention was (is) to bake a bracket up for fitment to the engine, just wondered if there was any up/downside to the footwell thing

Re: With regard to throttle linkage
Judging by previous postings I think the area of potential problems is the cast bracket that holds the throttle peddle. You could perhaps check old postings to find out what the issue was. Stiff movement of peddle in casting perhaps? If that is indeed the problem then careful checking of tolerances and greasing remembering the differing materials. I’m sure others with that set up can advise.

Seems like I’ve run into a problem……
The lowered air filter base is for bonnet clearance. What have others done? It’s an RV8 by the wayYou do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Oooh 'eck!
Could you put a crank in it?

Or reverse the two levers, throttle and the one shown, rotate to the bottom...?

Re: With regard to throttle linkage
Hope that helps. Most Rovers I’ve seen have a cranked connector to the carb. It’s the only way really.

Is the carb on “back to front”?
