BRA 289 manual?

Post by simonjrwinter »

Hi there,

I'm very possibly going to be acquiring a BRA 289 project needing a LOT of work. It's the sort of work where, if you need a manual....you shouldn't be undertaking the work!
However, just for my own interest, was there ever a BRA manual? Are there any BRA 289 builders on here? how about BRA 289 build sites?
Any information much appreciated.

Try to get an old Hawk manual if ever existing (MGB running gear), it should not be that different I think, some bits maybe. Just ask the HAWK experts or David Large for BRA. He owned one of the first cars, MKI with the engine far to the front. The MKII has the engine and the firewall approx. 8" back.

hi,

i take it that the B.R.A is already registered?

ive just got a B.R.A through S.V.A test and it passed.

the tester said it would have been a different story if i would have had to do the new I.V.A test.

I got most of my info from MGB and rover SD1 manuals as that is where all mechanical , engine and brakes came from.

cheers stu.

I have only just seen this, I have a BRA 289 "manual" and I will happily copy it and send it to you - you will be disappointed!

David,

I know this post is from yonks ago, but wonder if you could also provide me with a copy of the BRA build manual. Clearly I'm well passed the point of needing it but it would be nice to add a copy to the history file for the car. I've PM'd you with my address. Let me know how much I owe you for postage if you can send a copy. Thanks.
