New Build.

Post by clive » Sat May 08, 2010 1:22 am

I know it isn't a new car build, but after a bad winter and quite a lot of damage to equipment through condensation etc, I decided it was time to knock down the old draughty asbestos workshop and treat myself to a nice new block built one.

Work started this week, so let's see how long it takes. I might even open a book on how long it takes.

Unfortunately progress is painfully slow. Local Council Planning Department has been a nightmare. This is how it is today. :(

Ah yes, an attack of the jobsworths.

Reminds me of our house build, back in '98. Two years to get planning permission, one year to build the house. Even the Italians must be more efficient than our useless bunch of (rest of post deleted)

A quick update.

Almost six months have passed and it is almost ready. Tomorrow the sparky is due to finish the electrics and the scaffolding is due to come down. :D

Next job is to sort out all the internals... now where did I put that Machine Mart catalogue? Any suggestions chaps? http://www.machinemart.co.uk/

It's a pity the other two Scottish 289s are off the road otherwise I'd invite them up for the opening ceremony.
