As it says really, does anyone want to swap their pair of 7.5" X15 Trigos FIA wheels for a pair of 9.5" X15 FIA Trigos. I need to downsize due to a change of plan regarding the rear tyre sizes & want to run 245-60-15's
cheers...Nige

Hi Paul, now they're mounted on the rims they look mahoosive I'm not sure if they might look wrong on a 289 style car. The front tyres, which I think are as near as dammit 245's look just about right..I think

Hi,
I think you're probably right. You probably need the 427 style rear arches to satisfactorily cover the big rear tyres. If you go for a 245 section tyre on the rear (I have 245/60x15 Avons on the front), what size are you going to put on the front?

Hi Paul, I'd probably go with something like a 225-60 or 65 x 15, though the 245's on the front would look tough, but again maybe over tyred?
here's a couple of pics of the tyres on the rims. the left is the 245 on the 7.5" rim & the one on the right is the 245 on the 9.5" rim. You can see how much the sidewalls are stretched on the bigger wheel compared to the 7.5's
What size do the FIA's & the Lemans cars run?
cheers..Nige

But Nige,
That depends on the track at all, wish bones lenghts, back space of the rims etc. But you all know that.
I had 285/40/15 on 10" rims at the rear on my Magnum.

Is that a Phyton or Viper Cobra you have tried the wheels on? Maybe with BMW running gear?

When Dad had 39PH, it was fitted with 6.00/12.95-15, if you think yours look big....
Cylinder bore is 4"!
They may look big now, but when your arches cover them correctly they will just look mean!
