Front Mounted Fans

Post by Paul Blore »

Hi,

As some of you will no doubt know, the 427 S/C Cobras had a pair of aluminium fans mounted in front of the radiator. In reality, they were of little use and are nowhere close to being a substitute for a good shrouded fan on the back of the radiator. But, they look pretty good and that is how they were, so I'm planning on fitting a pair to mine.
However, they won't be functional because the aluminium blades very quickly go out of balance when they get hit by anything and very soon after will start throwing blades into the radiator.
I've got an original spec mounting bar made up and I now need the motors. They're round bodied MGB fan motors and as I don't need them to work, I was wondering if any of you have any old ones kicking around in your garages.
