Re: Looking for a Hawk 289 FIA
I spoke to Paul of Sherwood about the FiA, and enquired as to why the price had changed, apparently they sold the car(click here) to a regular client, who spent around £15k on engine upgrades, before trading it back to them for his next vehicle. I`m sure he told me that it was correctly registered, as I said that would be a 'showstopper', but he didn`t have paperwork to hand to confirm. Even correctly registered, I think it`s a bit strong, pricewise, for that money I would have definitely wanted a Le Mans hardtop,(can`t remember if it even has a soft-top!) but as he had only just taken it back in(July), there wasn`t much movement from list.

Interesting, when I asked about the v5c they told me it was still registered as an MGB...

Mmm. Yes. Seen it, and it is stunning in the metal. Unregistered though... which is the only reason* I haven`t already bought it.

225 grand for a replica? It's not registered, either - and you'd think for that money they could fit the correct model wiper motor. Bet it's a 6-bolt, probably a 302, toploader... too much money
Re: Looking for a Hawk 289 FIA
Hi,
I looked at the Sherwood Hawk FIA and was very interested in purchasing it until i saw the V5 where it was still registered as an MG and told that it was built in 2010 but had not gone through the IVA process. i checked around to get an idea of the cost of putting it through the IVA but the cost estimate was significant and no way of confirming that it would not end up on a "Q" plate - decided to leave well alone

Re: Looking for a Hawk 289 FIA
I established in August that it was registered as "MG Other", but was already pursuing other lines of enquiry by then!
