Set of Wheels required for Hawk289FIA

Post by John H »

I am mid build with my FIA and still need to get some wheels. I am looking for FIA style with spline drive. Gerry has supply issues right now! Anyone have a set for sale?

No FIA but Kidney Beans with spline inserts. 5 wheels, were in the 80s on COB 6046, 6.25" wide, direct fitment on AC or MGB hubs. Well, not cheap.

I presume you've seen the ones ON EBAY, 2 sets available, £1000 or best offer. :)

Assuming the off-set is ok, does anyone want to go halves and buy a set with me? (Front and rear each)
Why would you want someone to go halves? do you only need one side or front or back?

The way that I read it is that its a grand per set of 4 and there are two sets available.

I'm actually hoping to get down to see the guy this weekend in the 289 (weather permitting) to do a trial fit for one of the sets (check backspace, arch rework, etc) so can let you know after that if you want.

Sounds like he is selling for a friend (as ever) and has had them for some time. Not sure why a GT40 build would have these wheels so want to see them in the flesh first. They have the steel inserts in the back a la GH.
