Hi Nik,
No, it's a "slab-side", but it has an FIA roll bar that same as Dave W's car.
It's definitely "true", but I don't yet have a price from the current owner. Gerry has also confirmed its credentials and that he built it as a show car. The registration number has changed since these pictures were taken and it now wears a "Smiling Cobra" style nose badge.

Re: Looking for a Hawk 289/FIA
Hi,
Apologies for the delay, but I've now seen this car and been out for a short drive in it.
It has Gerry's coil-over front suspension and the Jag rear end. The engine is a 302 and I should have the specs shortly.
The owner is looking for £50K for it.
If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll put you in contact with the owner.

50k? Wow! That's the spitting image of a car I nearly bought earlier this year for 23K.
It had a Rover lump, but amazing to think just a different engine can more than double it's value!

Re: Looking for a Hawk 289/FIA
This car was built by Gerry as a show car/demonstrator, so it is probably more than just the engine that's different. £23K is far too cheap for a 289 Hawk with Jag rear and coil-over front suspension. At that price, why didn't you buy it?
It has a "289 ***" registration number that will go with the car.
It drove very well with no obvious rattles or squeaks and the engine sounded strong and mechanically very quiet. The tyres are all good with plenty of tread, but I suspect they're the original ones fitted when the car was built, so they may be getting on a bit.
It also has a soft top and side screens and now wears Raydyot style mirrors rather than the IVA/SVA friendly items in the pictures above.
