Hello:
I am new to the 289 Register, however,I'd like to offer up a car I've owned for several years now. It is time for me to move on to other projects. If you google "ERA2124 Ownership Log" you will see the story of the car over the period of my ownership.
Just a little back story, I was working in Britain as an Expat over the 2002-2005 time period and took the opportunity to immerse myself in your rich car culture. Over that time, I had the good fortune to meet up with John Abel at his home during one of his early Hawk 289 builds. Once after having returned to the States, and after a 3yr love affair with a S2 Lotus Elise, I acquired my own 289 Cobra, only ERA's version. Although I had many influences when it came to the Cobra, I believe it was that early meeting with John that solidified the small-block car was the one for me.
So here it is:

Allen, that is one fabulous looking car, with a nice spec. I hope one of our members here in the UK buys it, so I can check it out, close-hand.
If you have a Facebook account, please post some shots and a message on the 289 register page and I'll make sure it gets shared with a wider audience.
Good luck with the sale.
Phil

I'm surprised Lee's not commented on this yet, as I think it might be what he's looking for.

I'll bet he's not the only one!philriley427 wrote:I'm surprised Lee's not commented on this yet, as I think it might be what he's looking for.

Been following Allen's ownership blog since the 'introduction to my father' video, I did something quite similar with my Dad! Good job I wasn't filming that as he said a LOT of bad words!
Brexit has put the price up by quite a few grand overnight for us, damned shame.
Hawk 289 FiA...AT LAST!!!
Re: FS: ERA FIA with LeMans Hardtop
A very nice car.
Does having the steering wheel on the wrong side for the UK make it more authentic?
E.g. FIA's would have only been LHD originally.
I'll probably regret asking but what are meatballs. I've looked all over the outside of the car and can't see any potential item.
English translation please.

I've emailed Lee as well. I think it could be right up his street. ERA make a really good car and are very highly regarded in the US. I don't think I've ever actually seen one over here so it would make a really nice addition to the club.philriley427 wrote:I'm surprised Lee's not commented on this yet, as I think it might be what he's looking for.

You buggers know me so well!
Paul and Allan - I LOVE this car!
Due to events of yesterday, I may have review or at least hold fire temporarily on my Cobra search, as my expected 'windfall to allow the purchase of a second car has been placed on ice until the financial implications of Brexit become more clear.
All things crossed, we should be all systems go in a couple of weeks and if I am, then I am most certainly interested in this car...
Update to follow shortly (I hope)...
