Dare I say... can only see two little blue boxes with question marks?
If I download them, I can see them - they look like mine, the US offerings, but nothing to see in the thread.

Works okay for me.

It looks older and tarnished, so I'm guessing it's an original mirror.

Oh right ... didn't realise, nice one. Can the central mirror be "Raydyot" as well or doesn't IVA allow that?
I'll have to check.
The IVA won't allow, so I have to fit the regular stalk type for test, with a plastic head.
I will see if a suitable bracket for the Raydyot type can be made to fit the holes drilled for the std. type. But I'm thinking Yes, no problem.

The Raydyot centre mirror fitted to a small plate that itself bolted to the two standard mounting holes, so it should be very simple to sort out.

I can see why you might fit the bullet type on a car with no screen, but why would you fit one as in the photo shown? It looks terrible to my eyes, is smaller horizontally than a rectangular mirror and is mounted significantly closer to the driver. Many original cars have the chrome stem of the rectangular mirror mounted reversed to place the mirror as far from the driver as possible, which gives a wider field of view.
Just seems really odd and intrusive mounted behind a windscreen! Several components on original cars (bonnet handle escutcheons, washer nozzle mounts etc.) were mounted with self-taps straight into the aluminium skin (couldn't bring myself to do that - 4BA screws and nuts on my car), so I suspect period racing cars had the mirror mounted further forward on the screen-less scuttle by a similar means. Just a guess, but would seem to me to be more likely.

Roger, you need to go back to your schoolboy physics, moving the mirror further away from the driver would reduce, not increase the field of view.

However, like you, I also struggle with the logic of fitting a round mirror behind a full screen. But there's no denying that's what they did.

I would say Paul is correct
Check the Targa Florio FIA
It got moved towards glove box to get a better view behind the drivers area. I would assume

But on the center it works fine and you're geting used to it. I drive it with a center Raydyot for many years, and had the long mirror mounted before.
