Not sure, but I suspect you can't have a locking latch with the round escutcheon - pretty sure the raised oval base contains the fixed locking element.
I can't lock the bonnet* on my Cobra, my Mustang, my Mini, my 2CV or indeed most of the classics I have ever owned. Never had a problem yet, touch wood.
*all these bonnets are opened from outside the car, in other words

On that footing, so do I. But I thought I'd suggest where they can be bought for the best price.(I thought the OP was suggesting that they are only available as part of a complete lock set?)Roger King wrote:So does Gerry...db replicas wrote:S+J Motors sell the correct type, with the round escutcheon.
The do the 289 washer jets too. Also at a very good price.
They don't have a website, you just have to ring them, or catch them at a show.

Mine doesn't have locks either and I've never found anyone messing around with it. Although I don't tend to leave it parked in public where I or someone I know can't keep an eye on it.

I don't need the boot latch or glove box lock hence the question.
Cheers.

Have a look on the back page of the Summer newsletter Dave.
