Hawk 289 FIA 302 Exhausts - For Sale.

Post by Edcobra » Fri Oct 05, 2018 1:22 pm

Hi,

I have a set of exhausts that came off my 289 FIA Rep. It was fitted with a 302. These are listed on the Hawk site at £1074.

Should anyone need a set I will take £500 cash for them. I'm based in Leicestershire.

They've covered less than 1000 miles. They are wrapped up in bubble wrap at the moment but can cut that all off and take pics for anyone who wants them.

I have no idea how to attach photos to this, so just ask me on imessage or whatsapp to send you photos and video as required.

Best,

Ed

Will these fit a 1966 289? I’m not building an FIA replica just a standard roadgoing 289 slab side. What’s the difference between the FIA exhausts and standard ones?
Many thanks
Hamish

Hi Hamish,

Too be honest I'm not sure they will and I'd rather not advise on that one. Maybe best to ask Gerry at Hawk or someone with more knowledge on here.
I would imagine there is a chance as the 302 and 289 difference might be more the manifolds rather than the exhausts??

Regards,

Ed

302 and 289 are practically the same block (cranks are different) so headers will fit either as long as the heads are standard. FIA exhausts exit at the front of the rear wheels rather than straight through underslungs. They will also struggle to meet IVA regulations as 2 silencers in each leg of underslungs just about pass.

Thanks everyone.
I think I’ll pass on this occasion.
Good luck with the sale

Hi Ed,
Did the exhausts come off a 302 fitted with Gerry’s headers, I’m building a Hawk FIA with a 68 ford small block stroked out to 331 and would be interested, any chance of some photos?
Thanks
Pete

Hi Pete,

Yes it came off a 302 and I believe so, but I'll send loads of pics before the end of the week. Do you mind if we do that via whatsapp? My number is 07970 464360. I can then have a chat about it over the phone as well.

Regards,
Ed

Pictures and video now done should anyone else need to see them. Just message me via the phone as I won't be checking this all that regularly.

Cheers,

Ed
