I am looking at a hawk 427 currently for sale. Built in 2008 it is quite rare l think.
It is chassis no HAWKTECH5CO805001. It is possibly the same car used in the hawk brochure for the new 427 car at that time.
Does anyone know anything about it ? One company owner since new it seems, and not been seen much.
Black with blabk interior , v low mileage, very well made , peg drive Halibrands, twin tube chassis etc,
currently registered COB 427.
Does anyone recognise it? Any comments or info appreciated
John

Re: Hawk 427 purchase
John,
I would suggest that your first port of call would be Hawk Cars and check with Gerry that he recognises the chassis number and can confirm date of build and perhaps the spec. Next is to check that it is correctly registered which if it was built by Hawk for their brochure photo then I would expect it to be all OK.

Hi John,
I think this might be the car you are referring to. The first picture is the car's debut at the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh in May 2008, and the second is at The Silverstone Classic in July 2008. I remember it causing quite a stir at the time.

Re: Hawk 427 purchase
" correctly registered" as an AC????? no its not. It's INCORRECTLY REGISTERED as an AC.
It's a HAWK not an AC Cobra.
If I were you, I wouldn't go near it with a barge pole in todays market.
Thats why the advert reads "perfect for export"
I've been in touch with Daniel at LE autos before, he should know better.

According to the DVLA website it is registered as a Hawk so I don't see a problem there.

Re: Hawk 427 purchase
Aaah, that’s fine then. Only going by the advert where it says “ it’s even a historic AC on the V5” or are we looking at 2 different Hawk 427’s?
The one I saw was on eBay.........

Hi Clive
Thanks for the pictures - looks the same other than no wing mirrors on the screen now and a yellow stripe over the bonnet that will come off ok.
I spoke to Gerry today and he reckons that it may be his personal car from 2008 that he seems to slightly regret having sold.
It has only done 2300 miles in all and virtually nothing in the last 5 years. Been in a large private collection l am told.
Dont know the mention of AC came from - this is registered as a Hawk and is not an historic , so needs tax, mot etc
Anyway, l will blow the cobwebs out when l do a 3 hour drive home on saturday - no rain please as there isnt a hood....
All the best
John
