I have never used one. I guess you have the rubber gaitor on top, that's it.

Do you mean the cap that's bolted down to the Ali casting??
If so I think they are a Hen's Teeth part!!??

Yes he means the steel cap with the lug out the rear that is bolted down with a single 10mm head bolt.
I only have a complete shifter handle. I will keep that as a spare, sorry.
Try John Craddock, or, Ashcroft Transmissions.

I bought my gear lever from Motor Salvage and Spares in Rotherham. 01709 895000.
Or you might try MGBD Parts and services Wolverhampton. 01902 689975

Thanks for all the advice, agree all fairly rare now so haven't bothered making two, butchered the old one and just had it chromed today, will weld to ball joint tomorrow and get it all back working.

Just have to slip boot and cap on before welding.

Merry Christmas all

Some of the rubber boots don't last long - split along the concertina folds!
So welding maybe isn't a good idea if you need to change it in the future. How about boring & tapping the T extension and welding a threaded bar onto the ball so you can get it apart easily??
Maybe I've misunderstood - if so - I'll get me coat!!
Merry Christmas
Phil.

No Phil this boot is very good and as new after some 15 years or more you lose track when it's been built over a period starting in 1987 ! Anyway easy to saw off and reweld but a good idea thanks
