All being well he'll be taking it to Spain with us next September, which should be an excellent shakedown run for it. Plans are well under way and I've now sorted about half of the trip. 8)

It's the same fuel tank I have, which was fitted to the original 427 S/C and Race Cobras and holds about 35 gallons.

I think 39PH had a 42-gallon tank for Le Mans, so what's that, a £220+ fill-up now?! Eeeek!

I only ever half fill mine because I don't feel entirely comfortable with that amount of fuel sitting just behind me. In reality, it probably doesn't make much difference in that regard, but there isn't much point in carrying that amount of fuel when everyone else's car that I'm likely to be with will need to refill long before I do, so I may as well fill up when they do.

Correct, 42 US gallons is about 35 Imperial gallons.

Just wondering why the 'built in England' Cobra had a U.S. Gallon tank...
