As posted on the other thread, you might want to ask Barry about a dummy leafspring, and a lot of other stuff besides.

As to what extremes I've gone to, how long have you got? And do you know, or are you related to, my bank manager?

How about a cheapie - removing heater, under dash wiring, top section of aluminium front bulkhead, wiper motor, lots of wiring etc. to insert a strip of marine ply, 18"x1 1/8"x1/8", into the horizontal joint between the upper and lower aluminium sections of the bulkhead, across the top of the footboxes?

I bought an Offenhauser Cross ram intake manifold for my '69 Camaro and modified it to resemble an original '69 Trans Am race series part. I then added the winters casting "snowflake" and the correct part numbers to it to finish the deception. An original is now North of £20K in price

what is the most outrageous/unusual/extreme lengths you have gone to, to achieve authenticity in your cars?
For instance, I've just read that StewbieC has fitted 'dummy' front leaf springs!

Does this count,  ....I couldn't resist, I'll get my coat...

I spray painted my inner wings and bulkhead with Halfords aluminium paint, good enough for GH to ask how I managed to clad it so well. :P
Cheers, Clive.

(If I'm not here I'm in my workshop or on the golf course!)
