Exactly which fluids are you referring to!
Apparently 1 in 4 males will have a hernia at some point in their lives so I'm in good company.

Nick, are you saying you've had the exact same issue as Clive??? Very worrying if yes.nikbj68 wrote:Pride. Fall. boasting about winter usage, followed today by THIS.

Re: First run of the year..
I have started a NEW THREAD with details of the failed bearing/stub axle to keep this one on topic.

Re: First run of the year..
It's more frequently reported that the inner bearing drys out and is more prone to failure!
As others have advised, pay the extra and get decent named bearings. Timken do make MGB bearings and still have UK manufacturing. (No guarantee that they are made here mind!).
Took mine out today for the first time this year. Can't beat that trumpet roar when you give the loud pedal some ommer!

Re: First run of the year..
I seem to remember there was a rash of MGB front hub bearings failing in this way, wasn't there a thread on it about 2-3 years ago? There may be something about the Hawk application that stresses them more. I know on my Hawk I didn't get terribly many miles out of the front bearings.
