Exactly which fluids are you referring to!

Apparently 1 in 4 males will have a hernia at some point in their lives so I'm in good company.

It's more frequently reported that the inner bearing drys out and is more prone to failure!
As others have advised, pay the extra and get decent named bearings. Timken do make MGB bearings and still have UK manufacturing. (No guarantee that they are made here mind!).
Took mine out today for the first time this year. Can't beat that trumpet roar when you give the loud pedal some ommer!

I seem to remember there was a rash of MGB front hub bearings failing in this way, wasn't there a thread on it about 2-3 years ago? There may be something about the Hawk application that stresses them more. I know on my Hawk I didn't get terribly many miles out of the front bearings.
