Raydot mirrors

Post by simonjrwinter »

Are these available with convex glass? How about the brackets and the tightening knobs?
Thanks

Most of those I know to have reversible glass, flat one side and convex on the other. I made my own brackets, just laser cut stainless and I use acorn nuts as wing nuts make them too easily removeable.
Gerry does some nice mirrors, you should ring him.

Fi tted my Raydyot style mirrors today. Very pleased with the way they’ve come out. Just need to get an MOT and tax now and I’m off!

Looking good Simon.
If I've got a long journey, I add an additional stick on rear view mirror which lives in the glovebox when parked up. The one for a fiver from Halfords.

Looks good but I think the tea leaves around here would find the wing nuts too inviting. i Intend to swap my standard nuts for domed ones.
What’s the view like on the internal mirror? I still have my SVA mirror which is higher up.

Peter, seems to be pretty good. Of course the acid test will be if I can actually see following traffic on the road whilst driving....will report back once I’ve had the chance to drive the car....

Do your mirrors have flat or concave glass? Mine, although not Raydot, are flat and took a bit of getting used to particularly the nearside one especially after an overtake.
Cheers, Clive.

(If I'm not here I'm in my workshop or on the golf course!)

They are flat, not sure how I’ll get along with that, I’m used to having a decent field of view. I’m sure it must be possible to buy and fit convex glass......

I confess I do a lot of turning of the head to make sure. You need eyes in the back of your head down here in the SE. Boy racers have gone up market with M3’s and think nothing of over taking anywhere there’s a gap.
