how sad is it that we see such beauty in a weld - and yes it is beautiful...

Here's a question for you guys, if you were building a race inspired car from scratch, which of these front arches would you have and why would you choose that style? Or, would you have something different from those below?

I've pretty much made up my mind already, but for a bit of fun I thought it might be interesting to see what others would do.

39PH

Or, 644CGT

Or the unusual 13 COB

Agreed. The same goes for the rear arches as well.

Funny you say that, A while ago I wondered whether it was just the personal connection that made me prefer that shape, so I spent some time analysing each aspect as they appear on other Cobras and built my own 'photofit' ideal Cobra, and it came out damned close to 39PH as was in the Willment period! Speaking with my Dad, he felt the same, when he first saw 39PH at Goodwood in 1964.
He thought I want that Cobra; not A Cobra, THAT Cobra. If fortune never shone on him as it did, he may never have owned any Cobra at all!!!
biased I may be, but I would take any one of them in swap for my Beemer! :o

Nik, of all people you really need a Cobra in your life mate  :D I'll put a basic chassis together for you at cost if you want, as I'm making one anyway, it's just as easy to make two. I also might just know for a spare body going cheap at some point in my future  You know the sort of cost involved after our chat at the NEC & it's not that expensive to build a basic, no frills 'glass car

cheers...Nige

Yeah, but I`d have nowhere to keep it, even if I could afford it! (Plus, I`d want a few frills, but no bling, mind!)
Six numbers, any Wednesday or Saturday, and I`ll take you up on your kind offer, as I can then afford a house with a garage AND the petrol to drive it every bloody day!!!!

Nik, I have plenty of room. I could look after it for you by running it every now and then just to keep it turning over and not seizing up. You could come up and have a wee shot every now and then if you want.
Cheers, Clive.

(If I'm not here I'm in my workshop or on the golf course!)
