Alternatively, if you want to clean the engine bay up a little, you can run the leads under the headers & use the seperators to keep them neat & then bring the leads up at the very front of the block to the distributor. I did this on my '69 Camaro & now there are no unsightly leads "sprawling" over the valve covers, they're all neatly tucked up out of sight. I also ran all of the wiring to the lights etc inside the wings so as not to clutter up the engine bay, less is more sometimes.

Hi all,
Just joined with a little hello from Melbourne, Australia...
BRA build No. 004, 3.5 rover V8. 5 speed.
The 289 is by far my favorite shape...
Am very fortunate to come across this old girl...
She has been patiently waiting for me the last 15 years in a shed....

Hi David,
Please see attached..... Still have UK plates on...
Soon to be on the road here in Melbourne Australia, traveled only 3,900 miles from bout '82'
I believe it was the next body made after the owners & people that formed bra cars.
My uncle originally built her in the UK then imported to Aus when he moved here
Work commitments etc just never got her on the road.......
1st pic how i found her last month in a garage after a 15 year sleep.
2 + 3 pics lots of products and hours with lots more to go....
Next month or so doing a few things before i crank her over..... Tank, carbie etc.....
This is me every time I open my garage :D :D :D
Aaron.......

That looks superb, good luck with getting it going. My car is no 54, it is unusual to come across many older cars.

My memory is telling me I have seen this car before in the UK (but it does play tricks on me!) - what is your uncle's name?

I am going to look through old photographs I have.

Thanks,

David

OK. I very quickly found that I have about a dozen photos of this car taken in the early 80's complete with the registration number, including one with a matching red hardtop! I am not sure I was present when the pictures were taken, but they are in an album in my collection.

If you would like to PM me an e mail address I will scan them in and mail them to you.

regards

Aaron,

I have just found 4 more photos in the album taken in I suspect 1984 when it looks like the car was competing in the Brighton speed trial. It is wearing it's hard top and number 119 and it has a beamsplitter for timing on the front of it.
