Re: Looking for a Hawk 289 FIA
That's clearly a matter of limited opinion

No, not with the dickie seats but grey with a red interior (probably a bit darker red to be honest)

Re: Looking for a Hawk 289 FIA
As the RAM has a huge central tunnel that only fits approximately over the chassis, I intend to cut it out and re-panel it in ali.
This will give much needed (for me at least) extra room in the cockpit

The Reynard chassis/frame is a superb design and very stiff. Think about the change twice!

Removing the GRP from around the tunnel and replacing with Ali should improve and reduce the width considerably. Something this lazy sod has only been meaning to do for the past 18 years

That's interesting. The thing I never like about Rams was that tunnel. I never actually thought whether it might be improved!simonjrwinter wrote:As the RAM has a huge central tunnel that only fits approximately over the chassis, I intend to cut it out and re-panel it in ali.

It can't be reduced significantly Paul because the main chassis structure runs down the tunnel, but it is possible to reduce it a bit by removing the GRP and cladding the chassis in aluminium as Barry Jones has done with his.

In fact, taking it to Cheng and Barry for an FIA makeover as with Barry's own car would be a great idea.
