Goodwood 75 Members Meeting

Post by Samthomasracing »

Who's coming to members meeting at Goodwood this weekend ?

I'm out with my buddy Colin Turkington in the Lister Knobbly, come say hi if you're around.

Looks like weather will be good too.. (hopefully not just jinxed it)

Hi Sam,

I'll be there on Saturday, so will definitely be over to say hello in person...

Me too Sam. Lee and I are meeting for breakfast at 8.30, will you be by the car about 9.30?

Great on-screen shot of Colin in front of the Cobras in the Lavant Enclosure, just after the Cobras qualified!

Bummer - didn't see this message, and was at your car about 9:30!

More of a bummer - I failed to meet up with any other club members all day.
Ho hum. Next time maybe.
Good luck racing tomorrow.

Sorry Andrew, sorry Sam... somehow we were in different places (so much to do and see) at the same times, although I did meet your brother Ben! Met up with Lee and Vince, as well as Olivier (those on the 2000 Miglia will remember him at Reims) and his mate Gerard (Historic Monte Carlo stalwart)... so it was busy.

Saw Sam/Colin qualify the Lister just outside the top 10, at least the track had dried by then. Lovely looking car, in Ecurie Ecosse livery :) Having the Cob on Lavant Bank does present challenges in meeting people on the inside of the track but it has other benefits. Wet conditions on the way to Goodwood meant the obligatory deep cleanse today though

Hope the racing went well today, weather was dry in Tunbridge Wells all day.

I'll post some pics soon.

Cheers,
Colin

Hi guys

Sorry i missed you all. Saw a few lovely cobras on the bank saturday pm though, finished 7th/33 in the end, not our usual result but you can't win them all.

Cool to be back at Goodwood & funny having Colin in the lister fully not used to no grip & old tyres !

Hope you guys enjoyed the event, albeit it very cold & windy !!

At silverstone thursday for the media day if you guys fancy seeing a corvette stingray & lightweight etype out !

I was only there on Sunday, but saw Colin (I'm guessing) sitting in the car in the holding paddock before going out on track. Good racing in A S-B race, I think I've now decided that the best place for a hot XK engine is a Lister's engine bay (but I would say that, being a 'Cambridge' boy). Of course, a small block Chevy makes a nicer noise... gorgeous car, though, Sam.
