It is very strange that this forum always gets spamed, it does nott happen in the other forums that I am a member of.
What is the experience of other members?

On my 'other' classic car forums, Series 2 Club, MOCGB etc. any first posting has to be approved before it goes up. I guess that's extra work for someone though, and we're a small club.
Nasty rash at the moment though, must be 5 or 6 on here?

Hi Paul,

Just checking - make sure you ban them by email address, rather than just username. That means they need a different email address to register a new account from each time - an extra hurdle. Otherwise they can re-register with a new username from the same email address.

Longer term plan is to upgrade the forum software to make registration better and more spammer-proof. I've done 50% of the testing that is needed to do the upgrade - it's coming, but a bit behind schedule at present.

I'm glad someone else has commented on this. I was frightened in case I stirred up another hornet's nest! :P
Cheers, Clive.

I do think the banning needs some improvement. The same guy back today with more spam.
If you ask me only club members should be able to post!
