Sounds a lot of money to me. Another issue with heavy duty clutches is amount of effort to depress clutch pedal. Clutch pedal on a 289 is a lot shorter therefore much higher ratio than on a Rover SD1

Thanks very much for your help guys, especially the part number. I decided to put the old clutch back in, with a new fork (as only the fork had failed due to severe metal fatigue). This buys me plenty of time to acquire the correct replacements for next time. Much easier task now with part number, suppliers, and time on my side. Colin

One more thing, I like the present clutch very much. It performs very well, yet is light enough for my daughter to drive with ease. The car's previous owner was a woman, who also had no problems. Colin

Go to racetechdirect.co.uk Part number Q010237T This looks like the later type self centering clutch, so make sure you have correct release bearing carrier
