Morning all.
I’ve been looking at buying a 289 kit from Hawk cars for a while now. Before I go ahead and place an order, I was just wondering if anyone had a stalled project they were no longer able to complete that they might be interested in selling. I’m not a dealer, not looking to sell on, just as a project to complete for myself. Please send me a PM if you have anything that might be interesting. Sorry, I don’t have the money all at once to buy a completed car.
Thank you in advance.
Tony

Re: Part completed Hawk project wanted
Hi Tony, and welcome to the forum. I think you'll find it extremely difficult to find a part built Hawk, but good luck anyway.
I don't know what your timescale for a build is, but a lot of members have been building for many years and have spread the cost over a long period too, only buying the parts as needed. Whatever you do, good luck.

Thank you Clive,
You’re right of course, my intention has always been to build from scratch, but I just thought I’d ask on the off chance. Sometimes people’s situations change and building a car can slip right down the list of priorities. I’m going to order a chassis in the new year so if nothing comes up between now and then, that’s the plan.

Hello Tony,
I've been to see a couple of "part build" Hawks, mainly after requests for advice on how to complete them. To be brutally honest, they were in a shocking condition and I can imagine that they may be cheap to buy, but the cost to get them back to a useable condition and time required, would far out way the costs of a new kit and parts to assemble.
What have you thought in respect to spec?

Had an interesting conversation with a guy at the NEC yesterday. He was looking at purchasing what was meant to be finished Hawk that was not yet registered. E.g. not been IVA’d for the UK rules.
He quoted a nicely built car in metallic green located in Gloucestershire at £25-27K allegedly with receipts for around £40k.
Big debate as to the cost of getting it inspected and whether it was worth the risk.
How much would need changing/ rebuilding. We agreed if if was still for sale in Jan 2018 that £20k might be a safe bet.

I know where there might be a Hawk AC Ace kit coming up for sale, Hawk uprated front suspension, 4 pot calipers, engine mounts for BMW. Only the front suspension has been built up so far.
