Hi, newbie here so go easy. I have, I think, persuaded myself that I want a Hawk 289. If you are considering selling then please do PM me.
As a newcomer to the marque i’d also appreciate all advice and pointers.
Many thanks

Re: Hawk 289 wanted
Welcome to The 289 Register!
You've made a good choice - there are a number on the second hand market.
You need to suggest which model you are after (ideally), and what type of engine.
The Hawk website is a good starter.
Kind Regards, John Coward

Hi Brooke,
As John says you need to decide which model and engine you would prefer.
The understated slab side or bigger wheel arch FIA with its unique cut away doors.
Then choosing lightweight Rover engine or the more authentic Ford. Many of our members use the Rover option as it weighs 80 kgs less but there seems to be more people now preferring the Ford.
Regarding a solid rear axle or the Jag independent rear suspension, I think the benefits of both will be debated forever.
Of course don’t dismiss the Ace. Understated with a nice 6 pot giving good performance.
Best of luck in your endeavours.
