AC Aceca at Auction

Post by peterc »

Noticed that an AC Aceca sold for £180,000 at Bonhams during the Goodwood Members Race meeting recently.

It was an AC-engined Ace, Peter, not an Aceca...big money for a non-Bristol car!

Beg my pardon, I shouldn’t be making the same mistake twice should I?
I will relook at the video. Maybe it was just a errant finger on the keyboard.

I spoke with the guy that bought it and went over the car with him at Goodwood before the sale - Nice guy called Barry who owns a company that makes parts for production Aston Martins and Bentleys. It is a heavily restored AC engined ACE and had been restored from the ground up. There were a few panel fit issues and small details that were not correct but it was a really really good car. With the buyers premium it cost just over £204,000. Barry wanted it because he wants to enter the Mille Miglia and this car would be eligible. I took some detailed pictures of the car for reference and they can be seen here:

It's the last set of pictures and is Headlined "Ac Engined Ace- Sold at Bonham's Goodwood Members Meeting 2018 for £205K"

Best.
