Just to let you all know, I managed a pass on the IVA a couple of weeks ago. Something of a relief - getting up at 5am to load up the trailer and get it down to Southampton was a right pain in the posterior. Both trips down there were in driving rain, so I had to wrap the whole car in straps and tarps.

Anyway, both inspectors I saw were pretty fair at the Southampton (Northam) testing station. There was only one thing I thought they might be being a bit pernickety about - an edge on the fibreglass that wasn't quite rounded enough. It was easy to resolve with a bit of rubber strip to make it safe again.

Just working on the registration paperwork now...

Well done Andy!
Great feeling isn't it!

If you have that collapsible boss section, Cotton Mouth on here (James) has his IVA at the end of June.

Very well done Andrew, now you can start to retro fit all the nice bits :)
It's been a long build, but you now have a very nice 289 to enjoy.

Any thoughts on a colour ??

Bill

Yeah - except for the insurance - 2Gether quoting £846. Hagerty won't insure because its date of first registration is too new.

Any suggestions anyone? I was going to try Adrian Flux next.

I think that’s one of the advantages of living North of the border Clive. You won’t get the insurance that cheap down in the SE.
I paid £266 last year ( its due late Aug) for agreed valuation if £39K and mileage of 3K pa.
I have been with Heritage for a number of years and they appear reasonable.
You will need 6 photos to gain the valuation certificate.
Suggest you discuss the fact that it is untrimmed at this stage and will want to increase the value when finalised.
