Hawk UK re-registering

Post by Karl »

What is the procedure to register a Hawk back in the UK? The car was first registered in the UK in 1994 with the donor car year of 1967 and than brought to Germany and registered over here in 2005 with historic status. What has to be done to register it back in the UK? V5 and plates do still exist.
Has it to go through IVA?
Answers are very appreciated.

Hi Karl, It shouldn't need an IVA if it has already been registered in the UK. Normally when you export a vehicle out of th UK for more than 12 months it is classed as a permanent export and V5 should be surrendered. It depends upon the circumstances but I wouldn't have thought it would be too difficult.

Does this help? It looks like you don't need an IVA, but might need a European Certificate of Confirmity which is recognised by the UK's DVLA:

They need some other supporting documentation, and eventually you'll get a V5C document from them to show it has been registered.
