Northern Machine shops

Post by mnicholson »

Hi all

Was hoping for recommendations for Machine shops to clean/inspect/potentially re-bore my 302 block (and other bits) but having looked at the recommendations on here, both on the discussions and the useful links, none are further North than Brackley (as far as I can tell!).

Anybody able to recommend anywhere, ideally in/near Yorkshire? A few pop up on a google search but recommendations always preferable!

Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,

I recently moved from Yorkshire, but I've asked a couple of my friends (one, a well-known Yorkshire-based drag racer) who I'm sure, will come up with the info you need.

I'll get back to you soon,

Phil

Hi Matt,

In the past, I've used Kenny at EDA (below) for dyno work on my Ford. However, he prefers Chevys. You'll see his engines in race cars like Lola T70s at Silverstone, Goodwood etc.

EDA (Castleford)
Kenny Coleman

My friend, renowned drag racer Des Taylor, recommended Kenny (above)
and/or
Andy Mapes (Huddersfield)

Can't find a number for Andy

or,
Performance Unlimited (York)
01904 489332
info@performanceunlimited.co.uk

Des also mentioned his mate who runs Auto Services in Doncaster. Apparently, he has done a lot of machining on Des's racing engines. (Mention Des)

Auto Services (Doncaster)
3 Balby Road , Doncaster , DN4 0RA
01 302 368 774

Hope this info helps,
Phil
