insane shipping costs

Post by ALF »

I was looking to buy 2 Convex mirror lenses for my Raydyot's at Europaspares.com.
Parts value 44£
2x Convex Lens
1x Mirror Nut
1x Mirror bracket

For a shipment to Switzerland they ask 65£ :?

Does anyone know another source for such parts which charges adequate shipping costs.

Morning Alf,

Assuming they are packed properly, suggest the post office or Hermes. I just sent 4 tins of varnish to a Greek island from UK for £30 ?

Hi Alf,
That does seem expensive.
If you are not in a rush for the items, Europa have a stall at the Stoneleigh kit car show on May 5-6th. If you order and pay for the items and say, I will collect them, I can post them onto you. You can Paypal me the cost of shipping. Look at Royal Mail for costs (it looks like £12.85 for a small parcel tracked and signed to Switzerland) (I don't like using Hermes for outside the UK). I work around the corner from a post office and have plenty of small boxes and bubble wrap at home.
Mail me at Membership@the289register.com if you like.

Did buy two lenses, 9,30 without tax, at mini spares centre, post 3,39, so all with VAT delivered to the door 15,10 GBP, but that was inside the EU!
Rates to Switzerland are different, but should not be so much.
