Finally pulled the trigger !

Post by Jim_w »

Hi all,
Been skulking around this forum for years and posted from time to time. Anyway finally decided to stop procrastinating and send Gerry some cash. Deed done, 289 FIA ordered. Any tips about what to do for the next 2 years welcome :D :!:

Don’t forget if you want authentic white footwells you need to specify them. Likewise decide whether you want the suitcase bumps on the boot lid. Obviously it’s a personal thing but the original factory team FIA’s needed the suitcase bumps to race in Europe.
Ultimately needs decisions on engine/ gearbox mounts.
If you are going for the self build you really need a donor vehicle.
Read up on the IVA.

Self build so I 'll need all the help I can get ! : ) . I used to restore MGBs so at least I have some background but never done a kit before.

Re: White footwells

Or you can make them yourself if you want your own life difficult.
Although not a Hawk, thats what I did... but its a lot easier to hand over some cash.
