With recent talk of Whitworth ejector fields elsewhere on this forum, members might be interested in another extremely interesting invention: The Turbo Encabulator. Youtube is full of cheap imitations and variants that have appeared over the years, but this is the original promotional film:

It was ofcourse originally a British invention, first published in 1944 by J H Quick, an enterprising student engineer (possibly not his real name) at the then City&Guilds College. A poor quality scan of the original paper, first published by the IET, is available here on the IEEE website:
