LT77 clutch slave cylinder

Post by SirrahBRA »

I am replacing the clutch slave cylinder on my car, as a note I have never had this clutch working, the slave on there is seized and was when I bought it.

On removing the slave cylinder the pin the pushes in the arm from the cylinder only just reaches the edge of the hole the slave cylinder goes through. This doesn't seem like it will be enough movement from the slave cylinder to move the clutch much at all.

I have had a camera inside and it all looks okay, in good condition, the arm is attached to the bearing carrier, the bearing is against the clutch plate, can't tell if it is pushed in at all.

Any ideas on what my problem might be? I don't discount having the wrong parts in there, the pin is too short? Are there different ones?
Or the pivot pin behind the arm is wrong or missing, I can't see that with the camera. I will fit the new slave and try it, I just don't see how it can work.

Cheers

Sounds correct to me. The actual clutch arm can wear through where it pivots on its ball pedestal ( if you are really unlucky )

Found the issue, is a lot easier than having an issue with the arm I think.

Am I seeing that correctly?
The cover fingers collapsed? or the centre spigot detached?
Probably find the plate stuck to the flywheel too.

Yeah the cover fingers are pushed in. When I loosened it the fingers snapped back, I think at some stage the clutch was pushed in when the bore of the slave cylinder was already rusty so it seized, leaving the clutch open, the gaps between the plates filled with rust, not that much but enough to keep them apart. Is quite odd. Is all being replaced now.
